Volunteers who coordinate social activities and gatherings of parishioners during the year.

Santuary Decorations

Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church.

Greeters

Parish volunteers who warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass.

Knights of Columbus
 

Lector

Reader who proclaim the Scriptures at Mass and other services.

Liturgical Linen Service

Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens. This includes the washing and ironing of purificators, corporals, and altar linens.

RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation – preparation of adult candidates for Catholic sacraments.

Sacristan

Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Soup Kitchen

Provides hot meals on a monthly basis to the homeless.

 

Pastoral Council                           

The Pastoral Council provides pastoral planning for the faith community it serves.  Through extensive prayer, listening, and learning the council assists the pastor in identifying and assessing the gifts and needs of the faith community; to clarify the parish’s mission:  and to develop and initiate pastoral plans to serve this mission for the kingdom of God.

Sunday Nursery

The St. John the Apostle Nursery is available at 9:00 Sunday Mass for the young ones.  This is a safe environment with adult and youth supervision and toys for the children ages 2-5. For more information contact Sharon Ewell at 981-4855 or sharonewellstjohns@hotmail.com.

Parish Clean- Up

Throughout the year we call upon parishioners to assist us in different parish cleanup projects.  Volunteering is a great way to help the parish and too assist us in keeping our expenditures down.  If you have a special talent please let us know.

Finance Council

The Finance Council recommends policy after studying matters of financial concern.  The council offers financial advice, planning, and direction.  It helps to find and manage the resources to fund parish projects and programs under the Pastor’s leadership.

Coffee & Donut Hosts

Coffee & Donuts are held most Sunday’s after Mass in the social Hall.  Volunteering is a great way to meet fellow parishioners. If you are interested in volunteering please contact the Parish office.

Sunday School

 

Heading off to Sunday School The St. John the Apostle Sunday School is available at the 9:00 Mass each Sunday for the preschool children ages 3-8.    Our volunteer Sunday School Teachers provided enjoyable Faith Sharing activities, stories and music.
